“HearVue matters to me because I believe in bringing people together, people from all walks of life and all abilities to share in community. I also believe in the power of good news to inspire and motivate positive change and HearVue, a leader in the inclusive communication movement, is good news!”
HearVue is delighted to welcome communications maven Connie Smith to our team, bringing her “Always Good News” vibe!
Connie is best known as the former news anchor/TV host/producer/reporter of CHCH-TV in Hamilton, Ontario. She was the first woman at the station to anchor the weekday news, later becoming the first active anchor to have a baby. After a distinguished career as a broadcast journalist spanning over 30 years within the conventional news format, Connie saw first-hand the hunger among viewers and society in general for more good news. She launched Always Good News on CTS (now Yes TV) in 2009 that aired across Canada for five years.
For her work in promoting goodwill in the community and in journalism, Connie was inducted into Hamilton’s Gallery of Distinction, received the Order of Ontario, and was awarded the Queen’s Gold and Diamond Anniversary medals.
For the past decade, Connie has helped businesses, charities, and individual clients make the most of their message in the media and public events, and is also an in-demand emcee and voiceover artist. Connie shares her experience with students at Hamilton’s Mohawk College, teaching Journalism and Media Studies.
